A sick tearing noise heralds the arrival of several eyeless, squiggling creatures that resemble tadpoles, each a full 2 feet in length. Their small, lampreylike mouths are obscured by a disquieting mass of tentacles.

This power calls 1d3 psionic creatures known as larval flayers. The larval flayers appear where you designate and act immediately, on your turn. (As Tiny creatures, they initially appear together in the same square.) They attack your opponents to the best of their ability. If you can communicate with the creatures, you can direct them not to attack, to attack particular enemies, or to perform other actions.

Augment: You can augment this power in one or both of the following ways.

Source: Complete Psionic, page 91. The number summoned differs from the original short description of the power in the psion/wilder power lists on page 72, which states that 1d4+1 larval flayers are summoned. According to errata rules, the full description is considered the correct source in case of such conflicts, so the short description for this power in the psion and wilder power lists have been altered to match the power description here.
